This laptop is perfect for what I use it for (productivity/office work and some light coding)! No issues with performance or running out of memory/disk space. However, I did have two points of feedback, both of which stem from the same issue. When I received the laptop and set it up, I immediately noticed that the trackpad did not work. Touching the trackpad would light up the keyboard backlight, and pressing on the trackpad would trigger a click where the cursor was on screen, but moving my finger across the trackpad did not actually move the mouse pointer. Rebooting the computer did nothing; in fact, the trackpad did not even work in the system UEFI menus. I similarly did not find success in reinstalling the drivers using Windows Device Manager. When I went into Windows Update to check for updates, however, I encountered another issue. Although the laptop shipped with Windows 11, it shipped with an end-of-life version (22H2) that prevented Windows Update from working properly. The combination of a nonfunctional trackpad and the inability to update my PC led me to simply reimage the computer rather than attempt further troubleshooting. This leads me to my recommendation: although I was able to get it working, someone without the requisite knowledge (i.e., most people who don't work in IT) would likely have simply been stuck without a working computer. Because this computer is labeled as refurbished, it should be mandatory to ensure that the latest versions of both the operating system as well as the hardware drivers are installed. Including this step in the refurbishment process would improve end users' experience and reduce the possibility of them encountering similar issues in the future. Overall, however, I would give this computer 4 stars for the excellent experience.
